Why did Belle run away and go missing??

When Belle Prater disappears, Belle's boy Woodrow goes to live with grandparents in Coal Station, Virginia. Woodrow's cousin Gypsy lives next doors and is curious as the rest about Belle's disappearance. Woodrow is cross-eyed and wears hand-me-downs, but Gypsy is impressed by his charm and witty stories. The cousins figure out they have a lot in common, and they become best friends during sixth grade.

Gypsy is the town beauty, but she has hidden sorrows of of her own. she wonders how Woodrow can accept his mothers disappearance, when she's not given over her father's death. Then Woodrow tells the secret about his mother.

I liked this book because it's funny, interesting and mysterious.

I recommend this book for 9-13 year old because it is very complicated for younger kids and older kids might not like it
